Per tutti voi, incalliti thrasher del 2000!
Ecco qui il primo EP del power/trio thrashcore bolognese Reanimaniacs.
Il dischetto in questione è composto da 6 tracce che vanno dagli 0.32 secondi
ai 3.57 minuti.
La band stessa dice che questo lavoro non è qualitativamente alto come le ultime registrazioni
ed effettivamente il suono di chitarra è un po' debole e il mixaggio non è certo da disco dei Dream Theater ma non ditemi che ascoltate thrashcore perché vi piacciono i suoni puliti!
E del resto neanche Waste Em All dei Municipal Waste aveva dei suoni così definiti
(giusto per citare un gruppo che di sicuro ha influenzato i nostri tre "zombies" bolognesi).
Parlando della musica si tratta di un thrashcore d'assalto che predilige i tempi veloci ma non si nega qualche parte mosh e ricorda molto da vicino gli Waste, soprattutto nelle metriche vocali molto veloci e nei fraseggi di chitarra.
Ottimi e più originali invece i giri di basso che fanno veramente la parte del leone, così come gli azzeccati fills di batteria.
Testi scanzonati che parlano di zombies nucleari che bevono la birra del discount, di poser che vengono scravati in terra con mosse di wrestling (wrestling rigorosamente anni 90!!!) e forze del male che fanno il culo a tutto e tutti.
Il testo che mi ha colpito di più è "Modern horror movies sucks" che parla di quanto i film horror di oggi siano scandenti rispetto a quelli degli anni '80/'90 e mai parole furono più appropriate:
basta con stupidi protagonisti fighetti e pseudo-mostri che anche mia mamma saprebbe prendere a calci in culo... Aridatece Freddy Krueger, Leatherface e Pinhead, basta remake idioti!
(Ho rubato un po' di spazio ai Reanimaniacs ma credo siano d'accordo con me).
In definitiva un buon EP anche se la band deve trovare quel pizzico di personalità in più
(che comunque si sente già nelle nuove registrazioni che trovate nel myspace).

Here's for all you thrash maniax the first EP of the Bologna based Thrash-core trio Reanimaniax!
As the band claims on their myspace profile the quality of this EP is not good as the last recordings...
I agree with them: the guitar sound is weak and the mix is rough, but damn you guys didn't list thrash and tunes cause they have good sounds, right?!
The raw reconding is not a problem and if you notice not even a record like "Waste eEm All" by Municipal Waste have a refined and good sound (MW are sure a big influence for Reanimaniacs).
Anyway, speaking about the tunes we can say that the songs are really fast with some rare but apreciated mosh breakdowns, the bass guitar riff are really cool and so are the drums fills!
The lyrics are about nuclear zombies addicted to cheap beer, poser teared down with wrestling move (only 90's wrestling is real for R.M.).
The best lyric is modern horror movies sucks, a thrash hymn about how good where the horror movies from the 80's\90's and how todays horror movies are total shit!
Bring back Freddy, LeatherFace and Pinhead, but the original ones not the shitties remakes (i've stolen a little space but im sure that RM will agree with me).
Even if the recording is a little raw and the band need some more personality (and if listen the new tunes on myspace you will find how they improved) the EP i really good and if you want some thrash noise you will sure enjoy "Fistfull Of Thrash".
