Nuovo split che vede l'unione di tre realtà isolane... Ma andiamo con ordine e vediamo le bands coinvolte!
Speranza Morta: seconda uscita discografica dopo la demo di qualche anno fa (che prima o poi riuscirò a postare) e qualche rimaneggiamento alla line-up (che vede membri ex membri di Full of Hatred, Il Disagio, Imposizione Facoltativa e più attuali membri di G.A.P, Angoracoid e Aspettando la Fine). Cosa suonano gli Speranza Morta? Bella domanda, dato che inquadrarli in qualunque genere sarebbe fuorviante! Si possono definire come sono una sorta di miscuglio particolare tra H.C. vagamente new school, sludge, industrial e rumorismi sinistri, sopra un tappeto di ritmi lenti ma brutali dove si staglia una chitarra bassa e funerea che sfocia in vero e proprio rumore bianco, seguito da un basso cupo e pieno, e dove le urla di Ciuffo ci descrivono scenari inquietanti e disperati che sembrano usciti da un tetro incubo in bianco e nero. Provate a immaginare un incrocio deviato tra i By All Means e Godflesh ma comunque il paragone non rende. Lenti e brutali, dei veri schiacciasassi da paranoia garantita, certo per uno speedfreak come me questo non è proprio il pane quotidiano, però devo dire che certamente il gruppo è abbastanza originale nel panorama hc italiano e sardo. Comunque li consiglio perché sono veramente potenti ed atmosferici allo stesso tempo, dote non da tutti... Se poi aggiungiamo la spiccata attitudine D.I.Y. Non si può non amarli, anche se non suonano veloci (scherzo regà).Ottimi.
Diffuse Present's Scintilla: E' il turno degli esordienti di questo split i Cagliaritani D.P.S. che capitanati, dal buon Valentino alla voce (scrivo così perché è l'unico della band che conosco), che ci propongo un crust melodico o neo-crust che dir si voglia con tanto di intro e intermezzi parlati che tanto mi hanno ricordato gli italiani Nagasaki Nightmare insieme a band come Ekkaia o Tragedy sono certamente una grande influenza per il gruppo. Troviamo in questa demo melodie strazianti e tristi dove la voce urlata di Valentino declama poesia su tutto il male si questo mondo, e un plauso va proprio ai testi, cervellotici e eterei che sono proprio atipici e particolari. L'unica nota un po' negativa è che dei testi così meriterebbero un range vocale un po' più vario rispetto alle sole urla (in soldoni mi piace quando nell' outro parlato V. canta pulito e spingerei di più su quella via, ma per puro gusto personale). Insomma se questa band curasse un po' di più i suoni e sistemasse di poco qualche arrangiamento sono sicuro che ne vedremo delle belle, soprattutto perché anche questo genere in Sardegna è poco considerato... Spero di sentire grandi cose da voi, sono certo che salteranno fuori!
Distressing Paranoia: La one mand band di Vale, cantante dei D.P.S, Drone/Industrial e rumorismi vari, non ho idea di che strumenti/effetti usi ma vi assicuro che il livello di distorsione e saturazione è veramente alto. Vere e proprie noise session mi hanno ricordato artisti come Merzbow, Throbbing Gristle o Monte Cazzaza. Rumore, interferenze, paranoia non certamente per le orecchie di tutti,ma ci saranno di sicuro intenditori che sapranno capire, tra l'apparente no-sense, cosa ci vuole comunicare Vale.
New split from three sardinian bands.
Speranza Morta: Second release from this outfit after the the first demo of some years ago (one day I will upload it). The band feature members of some cool sardinian band like Hatred, Il Disagio, Imposizione Facoltativa , G.A.P, Angoracoid and Aspettando la Fine. So what kind of music Speranza Morta plays? Good question because is really hard to close this band into one genre. In fact they are a strange blend of some kind of new school hc plus sludge and industrial that sometimes ends in real white noise. The drumming is slow but brutal, the guitar is extra downtuned and really powerfull and so is the bass guitar, the screamed assault of the vocals announces to the listeners the end of humanity. If you want to imagine this band try to figure out a twisted mix between By All Means and Godlfesh. Slow and brutal like a real steamroller, they will blow your fucking mind! As a speedfreak as I am I can't say that this style is my favourite, but this band is amazing and unique expecially here in Sardinia.
Diffuse Present's Scintilla: Now is the turn the emergin band D.P.S. taht plays the so called melodical crust or neo-crust, with intro and spoken word interludes that remind me bands like Nagasaki Nightmare that together with Ekkaia and Tragedy are for sure a big influence to the band. So what to expect to the tunes of this band? Melodic riffs on a fast drum pattern where the screamed vocals of Valentino declaims lyrics that seems poetry. Lyrics are the best part of the band really well written and brain twisting. The only thing that I don't like is that those so well written lyrics deserve a more large vocal range in my opinion ( I like the clean tune of the spoken word parts). But for the start is a real interesting and very good. I'm sure that with some time and a better production they will release a real blast.
Distressing Paranoia: This is the solo drone/indistrial and stange noises project of Vale from D.P.S. I have no idea about which kind of instruments he does play on this stuff, but I assure that these tracks are full of distorsion and saturation. Real noise that remind me artists like Merzbow, Throbbing Gristle o Monte Cazzaza. Noise interferences and paranoiac behaviours, not for the faint hearted, but there are some people out there that, through the apparent no-sense, will find what DP means.
