I Signo XIII sono un gruppo post punk brasiliano attivo da un po' di tempo.
Non esattamente un fan di queste
sonorità, anzi sono a me piuttosto avverse
e sconosciute ma non mi sento però di
bocciare totalmente la band perché non conosco il genere e perché
hanno comunque la dedizione al D.I.Y. quindi piuttosto che recensire
vi dirò cosa troverete in questo EP.
Chitarre melodiche e pulite che
intrecciano malinconiche melodie quasi new wave con il basso, la voce
è pulita, mai urlata e quasi cantilenante con testi che purtroppo
non mi è dato capire perché come ho detto alla band le uniche
parole che so in portoghese sono "Ratos de Porao","Sepultura"
e "Porra" (imprecazione stile "porcatroia" per
gli interessati) quindi non so quali sono i temi trattati dalla band
ma tutta l'atmosfera mi sa di introspettivo.
Quindi siamo di fronte a un post rock
melodico non veloce volutamente ripetitivo e ipnotico. Certamente
questo non è nè il mio pane quotidiano nè dei lettori di U.A. ma
non posso dire neanche che il disco sia un brutto prodotto o mal
registrato.
Per i pochi di voi che amano la
melodia.

I'm not a fan of these kind of tunes,
otherwise i have a little avversion for it
and i'm not really in it, but i can't
reject this first of all beacuse i'm not into this kind of music and
i can't do a real rewiew and to the other side i amire the D.I.Y.
dedition in not hc bands, so instead of a real rewiew i will tell you
what are you gonna find in this EP.
Melodical clean guitar riffs almost new
wave where clean melaconical vocals sings lullaby-like melodies, i
can't tell what lyrics are all about beacause as i said to the band
the only portoguese words that i know are "Ratos de Porao"
"Sepultura" and "porra"(is a swearword almost
untraslatable in any language). So i don't know anything about the
lyrical themes but the whole picture reminds me something
introspective.
So if you download you're about to ear
somekind of melodical post punk\post rock not so fast and with a new
wawish sound with obsessive hypnotic structures, thats notdefinitely
not my piece of cake but some melodical oriented readers may
appreciate.
