Arrivano da Cagliari le tracce d'esordio di questo variopinto gruppo punk: creste alte, riffs sparati, ritmi sostenuti e cori selvaggi caratterizzano la demo che ha una qualità tutto sommato niente male (intendiamoci non è un disco iper-prodotto o stronzate del genere, però si sente abbastanza bene).
Non saprei indicarvi bene le influenze musicali dei Deranged, dato che lo street-punk non è esattamente il mio genere e non lo conosco a fondo, però posso dirvi che mi hanno ricordato gli Operation Ivy e qualcosa degli Antidote (prendete con le pinze queste definizioni).
In ogni caso in questa demo non c'è niente che io non conosca: i cori e i ritonelli da cantare sotto il palco non mancano, il ritmi belli veloci e il basso "svolazzante" non mancano all'appello... Quindi street-punk o no mi piacciono perché riescono ad essere nello stesso tempo diretti e melodici nella giusta misura.
I pezzi migliori sono "Holy Knife" che in un minuto scarso ci mostra il lato veloce e diretto della band e "Walking out" divertente pezzo skankeggiante dal ritmo allegro, dove il basso la fa certamente da padrone.
In definitiva un ottimo esordio per questo gruppo di Casteddu, per cui sono sicuro che in futuro questi ragazzi riusciranno a sfornare un Full-lenght ancora più vario e meglio eseguito. L'unico neo che trovo è il cantato in inglese, non che io lo reputi poco incisivo, anzi, ma dei pezzi di questo tipo a mio parere sarebbero spiccati di più se cantati in italiano (oh regà opinione personale ovviamente ;) Comunque i Deranged spaccano e gli assegnerei anche dieci punti in più per aver suonato vestiti da donna! Mi scuso con la band per il ritardo.

Brand new demo from these street-punx unit from Cagliari (Sardinia)... Mohawks, snooty riffs and fast rythms are the main feature of this demo.
The reconding quality is not bad (there’s no “Andy Sneap’s style production” here,but hey that’s punk rock ,who cares?).
Talking about musical influences I’m not really into street punk but I found some similarity towards Operation Ivy and The Andidote, that’s probably because I don’t listen to this kind of punk very much, but in the end there’s nothing that I don’t know in this demo so : gang chorus to sing together with band at the shows, fast beats and a skanking bass.
I really liked them because they succeed in the achievement of being melodic but really straight forward in the same measure.
The best song in my opinion are “Holy Knife” a fast and violent song that in about one minute delivers the best side of the band and “Walking out” a funny skanking song, with an happy rhythm where the bass guitar is the protagonist.
I’m sure that the time will deliver us a really good Deranged LP especially if the band will continue to make several styles through the whole CD, the only “criticism” that I have to move to the band is the language that they used (English) because I think that an Italian “speaking” version of Deranged would be more peculiar (hey guys no offence intended, it's just an opinion;)
Anyway they rock and they even played dressed as women, so the band rocks even more!
